Broke down on the Rubicon? We'll come get you.

Boswell's Extreme Off-Road runs trail recovery and rescue on the Rubicon Trail, Fordyce Trail, and other Northern California trails. Broken axle, blown steering, rolled rig, dead in the rocks — call us and we roll out with the tools, parts, and welders to either fix you on the spot or drag you out.

You break it, we fix it, you keep wheeling. And if it can't be fixed on the trail, we tow it out.

What we recover

  • Mechanical breakdowns — axles, steering, suspension, drivetrain
  • Rollovers and flop-overs
  • Stuck rigs — winch-outs and extractions
  • Dead rigs that need a flat-tow off the trail

How it works

  1. Call (916) 240-2515. Tell us where you are on the trail and what's broken.
  2. We roll out with a built rig, tools, spare parts, and a welder.
  3. We fix it on the trail if we can — so you drive out instead of getting dragged out.
  4. If it can't be fixed trailside, we tow you out.

Recovery pricing

$2,000 minimum — covers up to 10 hours. The clock starts when we roll out. $200/hour after 10 hours.

TRAIL TIP — FLY-OUT COVERAGE

Get an AirMedCare Network membership before you wheel. If a REACH, Calstar, Cal-Ore, or Sierra Lifeflight helicopter flies you out, the membership covers the flight — without it, that bill can run tens of thousands of dollars.

Where we run

  • Rubicon Trail — Loon Lake to Tahoe, the whole trail
  • Fordyce Trail — full trail recovery
  • Other Northern California trails — Barrett Lake, Slick Rock, Deer Valley, Strawberry, and more. Broken down on a NorCal trail that's not listed? Call and ask — if we can get a rig to you, we'll come.

Why Boswell's

We don't just tow. We bring a full trail repair setup — tools, parts, welders — because half the time the rig doesn't need a tow, it needs a fix. That's the difference between a big tow bill and driving out under your own power.
